infrequent rest...

Just so you know, the infrequency of my posts reflects the infrequency of my free time these days. Seriously, I've been working non-stop. I wish that I could tell more interesting stories today than tales of a Manhattan working girl slaving away on the 19th floor of a tall office building in midtown, better anecdotes than those on late night art opening escapades, or even elaborate about the big literary benefit party that I organized at Cooper Union this week to make it sound more interesting. I could tell you about the parties that I missed. The lost opportunities to get ahead and meet even more new people. I missed Yinka Shonibare's panel at Cooper Hewitt last night because I was too dang busy in the office (I worked a ten hour work day yesterday). I missed Ed Burtynsky's opening at Cowles Gallery on Saturday because it was raining and I hibernated in Brooklyn (thank goodness I made it to his opening at the Brooklyn Museum several days earlier).

The only things that are out of the ordinary at the moment are:
1. The awesome autumn mix cd that I'm making. I'm giving it a test drive right now, not bad. In keeping with the autumnal spirit, it's introspective and jazzy. It's something you'd totally listen to on a cool day when you want to woo yourself with the changing leaves and finally be glad that you're wearing a sweater.

2. I'm also making a visual narrative artist book for a group show at Allston Skirt Gallery. That's really fun. It's going to be a more elaborate version of my comic book.

3. Oh, and I will have two out of town friends in NYC this weekend. First, my MOM! We're going to have such a good time. And second, my friend Emily (ala Allston Skirt Gallery). She's a hoot! (*Totally embarassed that I just wrote "hoot"*)
